About Our Team

Founded in 2000, CA-11 is a part of the National Disaster Medical System, under Health and Human Services (HHS) for the Federal Government. We are a fully deployable team, comprised of multiple medical specialties, from physicians to EMTs.

Our team has deployed to the Florida hurricanes of 2004, Katrina in 2005, Ike in 2008, and have had members deploy to the World Trade Center in 2001, the Olympics in Salt Lake City in 2002, to Haiti in 2010, and the Presidential Inauguration in 2009.

Deployments are usually 2-3 weeks in duration, and are in austere settings, often with no power or running water.
